Consequences of non-payment

From the moment the case is passed to court, your property and funds will be seized to secure the claim and, later, to recover the debt.

You may be accused of fraud: taking possession of another person's property, or acquiring the right to property by deception or abuse of trust.

Information about you as an unreliable borrower will be passed to credit history bureaus. All banks will have your credit history, and getting a new loan will be harder.

You may face serious difficulties obtaining a foreign passport and entry visas to many countries.

The court may levy execution on your property and sell it to repay the debt. Such property is usually sold at low prices and may cover only part of the debt.

Some employers ask for a credit history certificate or proof of no debts under other agreements. A negative history may be viewed negatively by an employer.

If the debt is not paid, the creditor will take the case to court. The court costs will be charged to you.

Penalties, which accrue continuously until the debt is fully repaid, will be added to the amount of your debt.

An unfulfilled obligation will characterize you as an unreliable person, which may cause difficulties when looking for a job.
